Celebrity Provenance drove the price up on this 1991 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet that has just 57K miles, but a history of being crashed. Clearly, the car brought a premium at the Dan Kruse Leake Classic Car Auction in San Antonio Texas on the weekend of April 21st and 22nd 2012. The car was sold with insurance documentation showing the car was at one time registered to Nippy, Inc. (a production company owned by Whitney Houston). A 1991 Cab with ordinary provenance might bring anywhere from $25,000 to $38,700. If the buyer runs a car fax, they'll discover that Whitney famously sideswiped a bus in the Porsche back in 2004. (at least that's the speculation about this car).
