2004 Subaru WRX STi
Description: |
|
This is a capably and thoroughly modified 2004 Subaru WRX STi built employing the highest quality parts. The car was built by an industry expert at a cost of $25,000 in parts alone (not including labor). The car was built to remain streetable but also to be a capable and fast weekend track car. The work was carried out at Gruppe-S and GST. This car is currently in Berkeley, CA. history This car was originally purchased in June of 2003 at Albany Subaru, and was among the first STi's sold in the United States. The first examples arrived on a Wednesday, and this car was purchased the following Sunday. Eventually the car's owner came to be employed at Gruppe-S Tuning, a specialty shop that focuses on Subarus of this ilk, effectively allowing him great experience and expertise with what modifications are available for this car. Using his expertise, he selected a host of upgrades for most of the major systems of the car. The resulting car is well-resolved and coherently modified, while also being quite subtle in appearance, as these cars go. On its last dyno run, The car made 355hp at the wheels and 350ft-lb of torque on 91 octane pump gas on their Mustang 4-wheel dyno (called the "heartbreaker" for its pessimistic numbers). A stock STi, which is rated at 300hp, makes 215-220hp at the wheels on this dyno. Therefore, this car is makes about 455hp and 455tq at the flywheel. The car has been properly maintained with full synethetic fluid changes every 3,000-5,000 miles, professional part installation and maintenance, and all paintwork by a high end professional body shop. The modifications include: Engine and Drivetrain: Perrin Big MAF intake Perrin turbo inlet hose Gruppe-S custom Blow-through MAF setup Perrin Signature Series front mount intercooler Tial 50mm blow off valve Gruppe-S TGV deletes Hondata Intake manifold gaskets Perrin 816cc modded injectors Walbro 255L fuel pump FP Green turbo w/ 8cm hotside Gruppe-S V2 headers Gruppe-S uppipe Cobb Acessport protuned by Gruppe-S Gruppe-S oil cooler kit Cusco engine mounts Perrin oil catch can STi radiator cap Gruppe-S carbon fiber radiator shroud Gruppe-S battery tie down Exedy organic sport clutch ACT Streetlite flywheel Kartboy short shifter Kartboy shifter bushings Suspension, Brakes, and Wheels: Ohlins R&T coilovers Cusco Type OS front sturt tower bar Whiteline front 24mm adjustable sway bar Whiteline rear 24mm adjustable sway bar Whiteline front alloy endlinks Whiteline rear alloy endlinks Whiteline race anti-lift kit Whiteline steering rack bushings Whiteline rear diff carrier Bushings DBA slotted 2-Piece rotors front Racing Brake slotted rotors rear Porterfield R4 racing pads Goodridge stainless steel brake lines Super Blue Ate race brake fluid Rota G-force 18†X 8.5 Interior and Exterior: JDM STi Ver. 8 front seats Sparco Clubman 3 point double detachable harnesses S203 STi red hazard button HKS Type 0 turbo timer JDM Subaru front lip Aerosync reverse hoodscoop WRX trunk and wing Cleared and blacked out headlights 65% front tint, 50% rear tint Destickered and debadged exterior WRX Front license plate blank off plate Pink STi star badge (has a crack) STi floor mats STi sill plates Condition The car is in great overall cosmetic condition, having covered under 50,000 miles from new. The paint does show the occasional blemish from regular road use, but less than typical given the mileage. The glass and lights are in good shape, and the wheels are excellent, being only a few months old, with no curb rash at all. The car was involved in an accident in 2005 which required the replacement of some body panels and the renewal of some of the paint. The work was covered by insurance and was carried out in a no-expense spared fashion by a high end professional body shop. The interior is very nice as well. The upholstery is extremely nice throughout, with no appreciable wear. The JDM Version 8 seats are extremely comfortable and are a significant improvement over the stock seats. The dashboard is free from cracks, and all switches and controls are in good shape. The door panels are in good shape, though there is small puncture in the left rear door panel. The headliner is in good shape with some soiling. The carpets are excellent, though the floor mats have some wear to them. The engine compartment and trunk are both clean. The engine compartment is particularly impressive thanks to the modifications. The trunk carpeting hase been removed. Mechanically, the car is extremely fast and harmoniously modified. The clutch is aggressive and the acceleration brutal. The suspension is firm and provides excellent body control, while still remaining streetable. The gearbox and differentials are in good shape and work well, though the 5th gear synchro is a bit worn. The brakes are extremely effective and work seamlessly. Engine: 2.5 liter turbocharged flat-4 Trans: 6-speed manual |
